Becoming an Owner

There are many ways to enter the racing industry. People like Graham Wylie for example have made a fortune from Sage Computers and has thrown millions at his trainer friend Howard Johnson. There is no way that Graham will ever make a return on this money and only time will tell if he stays in racing for the long term.

Unlike football you can't buy your way to success in this game. There are too many horror stories of horses that cost millions becoming flops. Conversely there are as many stories of horses costing very little making it big time.

The first question that you should ask yourself is.

"Why do I want to become an owner?"

If you answer these questions honestly then the following table will help you get the best out of being an owner. (Click on the hyperlinks for further information )
