The Trainer
Trainers are the interface between owners and
the racing industry, if you hire a bad trainer you will have a temporary
interest in the Racing Industry. If your first experience is good you will
be in it for the long term.
Unfortunately there is very little control
over the trainer and although the Jockey Club / British Horse Racing Board
(BHB) run and regulate racing, they appear unwilling to take major action to
control the sport.
Racing is and has always been all about who you know
and until
the controlling people change, racing will not progress. The apathy about
David Elsworth and Charlie Gordon Watson is similar to what
was
happening in the stock market before Ivan Boesky was sent to jail..

Luckily there are far more honest people than dishonest and by posting your comments on the Trainer Comments section, good and bad, this will help new and current owners find the right trainer.
The Right Trainer for You!
There are many different types of trainers and you need to find one that has ability but most importantly one you can get on with. If you are not related to the Queen then there are some trainers that you should avoid, although economics are now forcing these trainers to have lesser mortals in their stable.
